WHAT? WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!January 25, 2008 Gilno Carswell(Douglas, Isle of Man) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Pros: Sound quality is clear. small size. very easy to use.
The Cons: extremely directional, will only pick up extremely small radius of sound. will only pick up loud sounds, and they have to be pretty close as well. recordings are incredibly quiet.
The other reviews talk of using it for interviews or lectures. I may not be a professinal interviewer but I think you'd have to get your subject to speak extremely loudly at point blank range to pick them up.
I wanted to record very rough tunes I compose so I don't have to scrabble around with manuscript paper. It's of no use to me. I wish my old Belkin would fit the new Ipod, that one was really excellent. HOWEVER if you want something to hold right up to your face and mumble self indulgent thoughts into this could be the one for you.
Very good overallOctober 8, 2007 Imran Rahim(Manchester,United Kingdom) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've used this again and again and I'm really pleased with it. Recording has two options I believe: high and low. I haven't recorded much on low but the quality is satisfactory and makes sense if you're recording something whose quality you're not bothered about. On high, you get a CD quality recording which sounds amazing. Only problem, and this is more a fault of the iPod itself is that it saves as a WAV file which is massive! An hour recording usually takes up about 600-700Mb which can then be convereted to mp3 and becomes about 10% of that.
So basically clear your iPod and charge it up fully if you're going to record something.
This works with the 2G nano and the new 3G nano video. Not sure about 1st Gen.
